Why do we fundraise?
We have been very fortunate at Peter Greer to have a community of parents, friends, and educators who are keenly interested in providing the best possible learning environment for our kids. Through various fundraising initiatives we have been able to provide opportunities for our students.
Through fund-raising efforts, the Peter Greer PAC has been able to finance programs that are varied and valuable ranging from:
Aquarium: The aquarium in the hallway is maintained by the PAC.
Sports Equipment & Literacy Supplies: Each year we give the school $2000 to spend either on new sports equipment or literacy and numeracy supplies for the library and other support staff.
Kindergarten T-Shirts: The PAC buys every child entering kindergarten a PGE T-shirt.
Compost Program: Did you know the PGE has a compost program? The program is paid for by the PAC. Every classroom as a compost bucket and compost it picked up monthly.
Fun Lunch Tuesdays: Our largest fundraiser during the year is our Hot Lunch Program.
Special projects: Furniture, cushions and mats for classrooms and common areas. Provocation boxes and loose parts!
Teacher Appreciation: PAC supports Teacher Appreciation by organizing treats for the educators.

Here are some ways to help us raise funds!
Art Cards (Late September/Early October)
Art Cards by Kids brings art into the classroom while fundraising in a fun and rewarding way. Parents purchase their own child's art cards with their art on the front and their name and age on the back. It's profitable and easy to facilitate.
Winter Plants (November)
Growing Smiles provides a plant fundraiser for every season—beautiful plants for families and money back to the school.
Fun Lunch Tuesdays (Every Tuesday)
Our largest fundraiser during the year is our Hot Lunch Program. This program relies on the support of our volunteers! We need 4 volunteers to deliver lunches to the classroom.
50/50
Our 2022 winter raffle raised almost $4,000 this year with the winner taking home almost $2,000 and $2,000 to buy lunches for kids through our hot lunch program! Our spring 50/50 raised just over $2,000.
Save-on-Foods
Save-on-Foods in Lake Country has committed to returning 5% of your grocery bill to PGE.
Here is how it works:
1. Shop as you typically do.
2. Purchase gift cards in a denomination you think will pay for the groceries in your cart. Let the cashier know that your gift card purchase should support the Peter Greer Elementary Fundraising Program. They will record this purchase.
3. Then pay for your groceries with the gift card you just purchased.
It’s that easy (1,2,3) and it’s already adding up!
